Custom, thin, "floating" frames are built from quality hardwoods and are are best suited for canvas or linen backed paintings.
Our "floating" frames are milled from select furniture grade hardwoods. The profile of the floating frame is designed to impart a thin accent to artwork that separates the work from the background.
These frames are particularly suited for medium to large artwork on canvas or linen mounted on standard 1 1/2" stretcher bars.
The basic frame is made from Western Maple, milled to profile and finished in a hand-rubbed hard wax oil, that provides a durable satin finish with a hard wax protection from dust, bumps and stains.
On request, frames can be milled from any furniture grade specialty woods such as Walnut, Fir, Cherry, White Oak, etc., stained & finished in accordance with customer requirements, at a nominal additional cost.
